MY FACE CAUGHT ON FIRE AND THEY PUT IT OUT WITH A PITCHFORK

My last post I mentioned I would expand on the subject of getting old and my plans to live to be 166 years old. As I scanned some of our recent pictures I found this "head shot" and turned it into a cartoon just to view myself as others see me... maybe?

Old age is the most unexpected of all the things that happen to a man.Age is an ugly thing, and it goes on getting worse.Intellectual blemishes, like facial ones, grow more prominent with age.

At twenty we worry about what others think of us; at forty we don't care about what others think of us; at sixty we discover they haven't been thinking about us at all.

The amazing thing is that the longer I live in the "Villages" all these old people don't look as old as they did when I arrived. Last week I decided to get back into tennis of which I was quite good at when I was younger, I took a few refreshing lessons from the club pro and offered to substitute as needed on some of the leagues. The results were that I got a groin pull and tennis elbow and sat in the hot tub for two days. Some of these old guys are in great shape!

If I'd known how old I was going to be I'd have taken better care of myself.
